The Ancient Greek philosopher, Zeno of Elea (c. 495-430 BC) called the 'Father Of The Dialectic' by Aristotle, proposed this logical paradox
concerning motion
If you examine an arrow (or a penguin!) fired from a bow when exactly half-way to its target, then it will still have half its journey to travel. If you then examine it after travelling half of this remaining distance , then it will again have half this new distance still to cover.
It having travelled yet another half of this required distance it will still have half the distance still to travel. Obviously we can keep splitting the distance as many times as we wish, each time leaving a uncovered distance, so the logical conclusion is that
the arrow will never reach its target!
In fact this splitting of time components, while it may take an eternity to do, will only add a period which approaches zero in real time - it is our analysis which will never end, not the arrow's path!
